Mikael Blomkvist, crusading journalist and publisher of the magazine Millennium, has decided to run a story that will expose an extensive sex trafficking operation between Eastern Europe and Sweden, implicating well-known and highly placed members of Swedish society, business, and government.
But he has no idea just how explosive the story will be until, on the eve of publication, the two investigating reporters are murdered. And even more shocking for Blomkvist: the fingerprints found on the murder weapon belong to Lisbeth Salander—the troubled, wise-beyond-her-years genius hacker who came to his aid in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and who now becomes the focus and fierce heart of The Girl Who Played with Fire.
As Blomkvist, alone in his belief in Salander’s innocence, plunges into an investigation of the slayings, Salander herself is drawn into a murderous hunt in which she is the prey, and which compels her to revisit her dark past in an effort to settle with it once and for all.
I can not remember the last time i was so excited for a book to come out. I waited like a kid waits for Santa on Christmas morning. All the waiting was well worth it. When I picked up
The girl who played with fire from the library i never made it out of the building before I grabbed a seat and started to read. I read 50 pages uninterrupted before I even looked up. This is the second book in what is called the "Millennium Trilogy" The first book
The girl with the dragon tattoo was a world wide bestseller. The author Stieg Larsen tragically died of a heart attack soon after he delivered the final draft of the third novel to his publisher.Larsson's character of Lisbeth Salander is one of the strongest most interesting women in all of crime fiction. This is a book that will stick with you long after you have finished reading it. Although you do not have to read The girl with the dragon tattoo to understand this book. You would be doing yourself a disservice not reading it.
The girl who played with fire is one of the finest books I have read this year. Packed with intrigue and excitement. This book is the definition of a page turner. The book starts off strong with the focus on Lisbeth Salander. Near the middle it slows a bit with the story leaving lisbeth. Then the ending comes at you at a ferious pace. I found myself holding my breath in anticipation of what was to come next. I loved this book!
